Fractal Analysis for Fatigue Crack Growth Rate Response of Engineering Structures with Complex Geometry

چکیده

A growing fatigue crack in metallic materials and structures exhibits multifractal features that inherit signatures of the growth rate behavior material. This study exploits recently established model to quantify characteristic response AISI 410 martensitic stainless steel using an L-shaped bell crank structure. The objective is demonstrate material could be by quantifying fractality crack. fractal approach avoids need geometry factor when calculating tip driving force. analysis image employs box-counting algorithm determine dimension along edge length. confined power law stage (Paris regime). Results show path structure dictated Mode I (opening) component loading. distribution fractal-based data within 99% confidence limit median Paris equation. Thus, employed for prediction engineering where not readily available.
